Museum experience design
This project was a large-scale projection mapping installation built for the Republic of Singapore Air Force's museum refresh, delivered in partnership with digital media agency, Textures Media. A diorama built to scale, with 3D printed aircraft, ships and vehicles mounted across the terrain, became the canvas for a multimedia show projected directly onto the models and the surrounding surface. The show runs across three chapters, Defending Our Skies, Integrated Operations and HADR, walking visitors through how the RSAF operates across the full spectrum, from deterrence to humanitarian response.
The challenge
A museum diorama is static by nature. The RSAF needed a way to bring a scale model of ships, aircraft and vehicles to life without turning it into a technical briefing on hardware specs.
Key communication challenges included:

Projecting accurately onto physical, uneven surfaces across the full diorama without distorting the visuals

Telling three distinct stories, defence, joint operations, humanitarian response, in one continuous show without it feeling disjointed

Making the show feel like a demonstration of capability and pride, not a walkthrough of individual aircraft
The approach
Triken focused on how the different branches of the SAF work as one force, rather than a scene-by-scene account of what's attacking or defending what.
Key decisions included:

Mapping the projection precisely onto the mounted scale models and diorama surface, so light and motion follow the real contours of the terrain and vehicles

Structuring the show into three chapters, each building toward a specific message: readiness, integration, and care

Leaning on music, motion and pacing over narrated blow-by-blow explanation, so the show reads as cinematic rather than instructional

Syncing sound design and lighting effects to the projection so the whole sequence plays as one continuous, live walkthrough
The result is a show built to be watched, not read, closer to a live cinematic experience than a museum information panel.
Deployment & outcome
The full show was installed at the RSAF museum as part of its wider refresh.
Two assets came out of the project:
The full diorama projection show, and a vertical holographic montage of the RSAF built from footage supplied by the Air Force, displayed inside a custom double-sided LED screen set in a mirror casing to create a holographic effect.
For visitors, the diorama becomes a demonstration of how land, sea and air components work as one integrated force, rather than a static display of retired hardware. It gives the RSAF the same tool a modern brand would use to communicate scale and coordination, inside a museum built to be experienced rather than read.
